National Platform Team Breakdowns

We believe that elite performance is built on a foundation of character and community. While the competition is fierce, the Storm culture ensures that every player feels they belong to something greater than themselves. Our momentum is fueled by a collective desire to be the best in Colorado and the country.

The Storm Advantage

The Colorado Storm National Platforms represent the definitive apex of youth soccer, engineered for the most ambitious athletes in the region. This comprehensive pathway is designed to meet the unique needs of every high-potential player, offering a seamless progression from the foundational mastery of The Academy through the elite regional dominance of the NPL, EAL, and DPL, ultimately culminating in the national excellence of the ECNL-RL and ECNL. By providing a clear and visible roadmap, we ensure that every dedicated athlete has a professionalized environment to ignite their potential and surge toward collegiate or professional futures.

The high level of competition across these platforms is unparalleled, featuring rigorous schedules within the nation’s most prestigious conferences and exclusive access to elite national showcases. These environments serve as the primary testing grounds for the country’s top talent, challenging our athletes to master the physical and mental speed of the national game. Whether competing in the ECNL Texas Conference or the Mountain Conference, our players are constantly pushed by a professional coaching staff dedicated to high-stakes performance and tactical sophistication.

Choosing a National Platform at Colorado Storm is more than joining a league; it is a commitment to a lifestyle of athletic excellence and to pursuing the highest standards in the United States.

Player Placement Process

At Colorado Storm, we believe that a single day on the pitch doesn't tell a player's whole story. Serving the entire Front Range, our placement process is designed to find the perfect environment for your athlete to build momentum. We focus on long-term development for all U11–U19 players, ensuring they are placed where they can both contribute and be challenged.

Intent to Play (ITP): Your First Step

The "Intent to Play" registration is your signal to the club that your athlete is ready for the upcoming Fall or Spring season. While this is not a final commitment to the club, it is mandatory for all current and prospective players. Registering ensures you receive critical updates regarding:

  • Official evaluation dates and locations.

  • Age-group specific training sessions.

A Holistic Evaluation Philosophy

Storm moves away from the high-stress "tryout" model. We recognize that performance can fluctuate, which is why we utilize Year-Round Evaluation.

  • For Current Players: Our staff observes your athlete’s progress throughout the entire season, valuing consistency and growth mindset over a single performance.

  • For New Players: Placement sessions provide a structured, high-energy environment to showcase your skills in front of our professional coaching staff.

National Platform Seasonal Dates

For our U11–U14 athletes in The Academy, NPL, EAL, DPL, and ECNL-RL, the commitment follows a comprehensive 10-month seasonal rhythm (fall & spring seasons). As players enter high school, some platforms use a "split-season" approach. The "split-season" approach is meticulously designed to support the elite athlete’s desire to represent their high school while maintaining a national-standard club environment.
