Thunderhoof the Moose
Thunderhoof is a goalkeeper who protects the net with his size and skill. His calm presence keeps the team confident under pressure. He is the last line of defense and a shot-stopping specialist.
Stormy the Mountain Goat
Stormy leads from midfield, turning challenges into opportunities with precision and sharp instincts. As captain, she inspires her teammates with courage and determination. She proves that great leadership lifts everyone on the field.
Bolt the Bobcat
Bolt is a lightning-fast striker, scoring goals before opponents can react. Her speed and agility make her unstoppable in attack. With every run, she energizes the team and crowd.
Whiteout the Wolf
Whiteout is a fearless defender who keeps his backline safe. He reads the game like a pro, stopping attacks before they reach the goal. His presence gives the team strength and stability on every play.

The story of Colorado Storm is one of constant elevation and a deep commitment to the beautiful game. What began as a local passion project has surged into a premier community serving thousands of families across the Front Range and beyond.
A New Era Begins
In 2012, Colorado Fusion Soccer Club entered a historic partnership with the Colorado Rapids, laying the groundwork for what would become the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club (CRYSC). This collaboration brought together community-driven youth development with the inspiration of a professional club. Programming began in Central Denver and expanded into Aurora and surrounding neighborhoods, building a growing community of players, families, and coaches connected by their love of the game and their proximity to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The partnership created new opportunities for young athletes and strengthened the region’s soccer culture.

2018 — Colorado Parent Family Favorites: Soccer Program Finalist
Colorado Storm (previously Rapids Youth Soccer) was named a Top Five finalist for Best Soccer Program in the Colorado Parent Family Favorites – Sports & Fitness awards. The recognition highlighted the club as one of the leading youth soccer programs in Denver and the Front Range, known for its commitment to player development and community engagement.
October 21, 2018 — Guinness World Record: Largest FootGolf Tournament
Colorado Storm set a Guinness World Record for the Largest FootGolf Tournament at Kennedy Golf Course in Denver with 310 participants. The record-breaking event supported local after-school and youth sports programs while showcasing the club’s commitment to innovation and community impact through soccer.
2019 — Colorado Parent Family Favorites: Best Soccer Program
Colorado Storm (previously Rapids Youth Soccer) was voted Best Soccer Program in the Denver metro area in the Colorado Parent Family Favorites awards. The reader-voted recognition highlighted the club’s youth soccer programs, camps, leagues, and development pathways serving families across the Front Range.
2020 — Colorado Parent Family Favorites: Best Soccer Program
Colorado Storm (previously Rapids Youth Soccer) repeated as Best Soccer Program in the Colorado Parent Family Favorites awards. The recognition reflected strong community trust and parent satisfaction with youth soccer programs across Colorado.
2020 — Guinness World Record: Online Soccer Video Chain
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Colorado Storm organized a Guinness World Record–setting online soccer video chain, connecting players and supporters virtually by passing a soccer ball from clip to clip. The initiative helped keep the youth soccer community connected during lockdowns while celebrating the spirit of the game.
2021 — Aspen Institute Project Play Champion
Colorado Storm was named a Project Play Champion by the Aspen Institute, becoming the first youth soccer club in the United States recognized for innovation in youth sports participation and program development. The award highlights the club’s leadership in using data-driven insights and member feedback to improve the youth sports experience for players and families.
