About

The Colorado Storm North recreational program is the premier destination for U5–U6 soccer across the northern corridor. This foundational tier is expertly designed to introduce young athletes to the sport through a blend of physical discovery and structured team play. Within Storm North, we cultivate a high-energy environment where children transition from playing "alongside" others to truly playing "with" them, creating a vital bridge into the organized North Denver youth soccer landscape.

Our curriculum in the Storm North region is centered on developing physical literacy—enhancing balance, agility, and coordination through soccer-specific movements. We embrace the "ball mastery and bravery" philosophy, encouraging every player to be creative with the ball at their feet without fear. This low-pressure, high-fun approach ensures that every child leaves the field with a smile, fostering a lifelong passion for the game within their local community.

To ensure a consistent and family-friendly experience, all matches take place within our Storm North In-House League. By hosting games locally, we offer a convenient schedule for families while providing a familiar environment for players to test their skills against their peers. We utilize the 3v3 match format (no goalkeepers), which is the global gold standard for U5–U6 development. This small-sided setting ensures maximum engagement, guaranteeing more touches on the ball and more 1v1 opportunities to build athletic confidence.

Choosing Storm North means joining a community-driven program that prioritizes the individual journey of every child. We provide the professional coaching framework and the structured regional league; our young athletes provide the spark that drives our momentum across the northern suburbs. This program is the perfect entry point for any family looking to join the Colorado Storm developmental pathway in a supportive, high-standard environment.

Player Attributes

We focus on turning individual discovery into team success. Our goal is to develop "thinking players" who are brave with the ball and supportive of their teammates.

  • Technical Curiosity: An eagerness to try new dribbling skills and "keep the ball" during 3v3 play.

  • Team Awareness: A growing understanding of playing with teammates and the basics of "our goal" vs. "their goal."

  • Physical Energy: The stamina to participate in dynamic games and small-sided match play.

  • Positive Sportsmanship: Learning to celebrate goals, listen to coaches, and high-five opponents.

  • Focus: The ability to engage in 45–60 minute sessions that combine fun activities with organized games.

  • Community Pride: An excitement to wear the Storm jersey and represent their local region on match days.
