About

Hosted at Storm Central, the Lightning Lab Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) Camp offers a high-intensity physical development environment designed to build faster feet, sharper balance, and superior body control. Running as a weekly evening series throughout January at The Eddy, this specialized clinic gives players a consistent touchpoint to elevate their athleticism during the winter off-season.

The camp is open to players from all Colorado Storm regions as well as non-Storm players looking to gain a competitive physical edge. Positioned as a skill-building accelerator, it serves developmental and competitive athletes across the 11U–13U (Tuesdays, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM) and 14U–16U (Thursdays, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM) age groups who are ready to master the physical demands of modern soccer.

Structured around focused, high-energy movement patterns, the weekly one-hour curriculum isolates sprint mechanics, dynamic coordination, and quick direction changes. Players train through speed ladders, acceleration work, and reactive agility drills that translate directly into explosive first-step quickness and confidence on the pitch.

Unlike standard team practices or broad-based technical skills clinics, Lightning Lab concentrates purely on movement efficiency, core balance, and athletic power. It provides the ideal winter supplement for athletes looking to enhance their foot speed, reduce injury risk, and step into the spring season ahead of the competition.

Player Attributes

The Lightning Lab SAQ Camp delivers an energetic, structured environment grounded in biomechanical movement instruction and positive encouragement. Hosted at Storm Central, this welcoming program invites players from all regions and non-Storm clubs to spend four weekly sessions sharpening their physical fundamentals. The experience is tailored for growth-minded athletes who want focused physical improvement and respond best to dynamic, high-rep coaching.

  • Sprint Mechanics & Acceleration: Teaches proper running form, body angles, and explosive first-step drive to help players win 50/50 races to the ball.

  • Agility & Directional Balance: Uses ladder routines and cone setups to improve lateral sharpness, deceleration control, and quick turns without losing momentum.

  • Reactive Quickness Drills: Challenges athletes to respond rapidly to visual stimuli, mimicking unpredictable match situations and sharpening reaction time.

  • High-Rep Movement Patterns: Maximizes physical repetitions within an efficient 60-minute window to build long-term muscle memory and athletic efficiency.

  • Age-Specific Brackets: Grouped into 11U–13U and 14U–16U sessions on dedicated evenings to ensure appropriate physical parity and targeted instruction.

  • Weekly Off-Season Consistency: Formatted as a four-week January series, allowing players to build progressive athletic habits alongside their winter schedules.

  • Growth-Minded Athletes: Built for players of all background levels dedicated to improving their foot speed, athletic confidence, and overall conditioning.

Together with Colorado Storm and Storm Central, this camp generates the athletic momentum players need to stride confidently into their next season.
