The Colorado Storm Kick Arounds are an entry-level introduction to game-based play designed specifically for players in the U5–U6 and U7–U8 age groups. Hosted at Storm Central (The Eddy), this summer program serves as a low-pressure environment where young players can simply show up, play, and build technical comfort. It is the perfect seasonal option for families looking to give their children extra game experience without the commitment of structured drills or formal team training.
While anchored at our Central hub, these scrimmage sessions are open to players from all Storm regions as well as non-Storm players who are brand new to the sport. We provide a welcoming, highly inclusive community space where developmental beginners and recreational players can mix, socialize, and compete under the guidance of our staff. Each session has a strict capacity limit of 40 participants to ensure an organized and safe setting for everyone.
The curriculum completely moves away from traditional practices, focusing entirely on small-sided games where the match itself acts as the teacher. Running once a week for four weeks in a 60-minute evening format, this program maximizes ball contact and keeps kids constantly moving. It provides a unique developmental spark by allowing children the freedom to try new moves, score goals, and play alongside friends in a relaxed setting.
