Far West Regional League

Operated by US Youth Soccer
(Region IV)

The Far West Regional League (FWRL) is operated by US Youth Soccer (Region IV).  This organization also oversees the Colorado Soccer Association.

Storm has entered teams in the FWRL in order to provide our players and teams the opportunity to play against the best teams in the western United States.  The level of play in this league is very high, and teams must qualify each year in order to be allowed to compete in this league.

This also provides our teams with an additional opportunity to qualify for the UYS Region IV Regional tournament (in addition to winning State Cup).

The Desert Premier Soccer Division consists of 10 teams from:

  1. Colorado
  2. Utah
  3. Arizona
  4. New Mexico
  5. Nevada
  6. Hawaii

Basic details/rules as follows:

  • Cutoff date is Aug 1 each year.
  • Teams are based on current CSA rosters.  Each team may add up to 5 guest players each season
  • Teams can have up to 18 players for each game.
  • Substitution rules the same as State Cup

Teams will qualify based on their previous season records.  The State Cup winners from each state plus the previous year’s DPSD champion are eligible for automatic qualification.  Other teams will be selected on a merit system.  Teams need to qualify for this league each year, through local State Cup and league play.
